About the Opportunity
Our client, NEO Philippine Tech Inc., is a software company specializing in groupware, cloud-based software solutions, software license sales, and related services.
NEO Philippine Tech Inc. is part of the NEOJAPAN group, a leading Japanese software business and the developer of desknet's NEO, one of Japan's leading groupware solutions.
As our client continues to expand its presence and operations in the Philippines, they are looking for an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead the company's overall business operations, drive sustainable growth, and serve as the primary representative of the organization in the Philippine market.
This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished executive to take on a key leadership role within an international Japanese technology group and work closely with senior leadership and the parent company.
The Role
The General Manager will be the highest-ranking executive responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, operational management, and financial performance of NEO Philippine Tech Inc.
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the business strategy established by the parent company while adapting initiatives to the Philippine market. This role will oversee multiple functions, including business operations, financial performance, sales and business development, human resources, compliance, technology, risk management, and corporate governance.
The General Manager will work closely with the parent company and regional stakeholders to align Philippine operations with the Group's strategic objectives and drive long-term business success.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership and Business Management
Lead and oversee the overall operations, performance, and strategic direction of the company.
Execute the strategic direction established by the parent company while adapting initiatives to local market conditions.
Develop and implement annual business plans, operating plans, sales strategies, and budgets.
Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Establish organizational priorities and ensure cross-functional alignment toward business objectives.
Provide strategic recommendations to the parent company regarding business expansion, operational improvements, and market opportunities.
Financial Leadership
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and expense management.
Monitor key financial and operational KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and business reports to the parent company.
Coordinate local accounting, taxation, statutory reporting, and external audit activities with designated accounting and audit firms.
Sales and Business Development
Lead the company's sales, marketing, and business development initiatives in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Team.
Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and market expansion opportunities.
Monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to support strategic decision-making.
Drive initiatives that strengthen the company's market position and support long-term business growth.
Human Resources and Organizational Development
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing management team and workforce.
Oversee talent acquisition, employee performance management, succession planning, and organizational development.
Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and maintain effective HR policies and procedures.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Governance
Ensure compliance with applicable Philippine laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Oversee corporate governance, legal risk management, and internal control systems.
Review major contracts, commercial agreements, and legal documentation.
Ensure implementation of data privacy, cybersecurity, and information security policies.
Maintain compliance with the parent company's corporate policies and governance framework.
Operations and Information Technology
Oversee operational functions to ensure efficiency, productivity, and service excellence.
Drive process improvements, digital transformation initiatives, and operational innovation.
Ensure effective management of IT infrastructure, business systems, and cybersecurity measures.
Promote technology adoption to improve organizational performance.
Government and External Relations
Represent the company before government agencies, regulators, industry associations, and business organizations.
Oversee regulatory licensing, permits, and statutory compliance.
Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and external partners.
Lead the company's response to changes in regulatory requirements.
Risk Management and Business Continuity
Identify strategic, operational, financial, and regulatory risks affecting the business.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and business continuity plans.
Lead crisis management efforts and ensure organizational preparedness for business disruptions.
Parent Company and Regional Collaboration
Serve as the primary liaison between NEO Philippine Tech Inc. and the parent company.
Collaborate with the parent company and other ASEAN subsidiaries to support regional initiatives and knowledge sharing.
Participate in executive management meetings, business reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
Execute strategic initiatives and projects assigned by the parent company.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Accounting, or a related field.
An MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is preferred.
At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience, including senior management or General Manager responsibilities.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in a growing organization.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and business performance management.
Thorough understanding of Philippine labor laws, corporate regulations, taxation, and compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience working with multinational organizations or reporting to overseas headquarters is highly desirable.
Japanese language proficiency at N3 level or above is required.
